100% genuine essential oils
· 100% natural: they have not been denatured with synthetic or half-synthetic molecules, chemical emulsifiers (Tween 60, Span 60) or mineral oils.
· 100% pure: they have not been mixed with other related essential oils, vegetable oils, alcohol or turpentine, etc.
· 100% integral: nothing has been removed from it, they have not been rectified, discoloured, per-oxidized or deterpenated.
Biochemically Certified Therapeutic Activity
The therapeutic activity of an essential is based on the aromatic molecules it contains. Scientific aromatherapy is based on the understanding of the physiological effects of each aromatic molecule and how they interact with one another.
Each batch of essential oil is sent for biochemical analysis, which gives us a detailed description of the aromatic molecules it contains and in which proportion. It tells us if the aromatic molecules usually associated with that essential oil are effectively present in the batch and therefore it is an indication of its authenticity.

Biochemical analysis can detect if the essential oil has been falsified or tampered with in any way and if it was distilled properly, as some molecules will be missing if the distillation temperature was too high or if the distillation procedure was shortened or botched, or if it has been re-distilled (rectified).
Physical and organoleptic controls
· Physical controls: As an additional quality control measure our essential oils are tested for density, refractive index and birefringence.
· Organoleptic controls: They are also tested against certified samples for colour, scent and in some cases for taste.
Without pesticides and chemical fertilizers
We make sure that our essential oils are extracted either from wild plants or from crops grown without pesticide or chemical fertilizer.
There is a price tag to organic certification and many producers cannot afford it. We also have to get a certification if we want to sell certified products. Organic certification has become a marketing device more than a real assurance that the products are free from pesticides. Often certified products are found to contain the same amount of pesticide residues than conventional products. Chemicals do not know property boundaries!
We value and support environmental and social responsibility, including fair trade, but we believe that it can best be fostered by getting to know the producers personally and we are committed to this.
Lastly, there are many altered essential oils (rectified, deterpenated, etc) having organic certification. Yet, for therapeutic purposes, certification of authenticity and therapeutic activity are of utmost importance and this is what we offer.
