Q: I heard many good comments on your essential oils but I buy only organic and I notice that your essential oils are not certified organic. I do not know much about aromatherapy but would it not be important that your products be organic?
A: Actually, a number of our essential oils are certified organic but we are not allowed to sell them as such because we do not have organic certification ourselves. However, all our essential oils are extracted either from wild plants or from crops grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Some of our suppliers do not have an official certification simply because they cannot afford it. The quality of their products however is excellent, often surpassing other products that are certified organic.
Organic certification applies to the cultural practices but there is a lot more involved in the process of extracting essential oil from the plants and each step of the process has an impact on the therapeutic quality of the final product. Many certified organic essential oils available on the market have been altered or rectified and those cannot reliably and safely be used for therapeutic purposes.
All our essential oils are 100% whole and genuine. They are carefully selected by Maurice Nicole, a renowned expert aromatherapist, for their quality and therapeutic characteristics. For various reasons, sometimes a specific aromatic molecule is missing in an essential oil lot that would otherwise be of good quality. Such lots are rejected during our selection process. We make sure that what you get is the best.
